Above: These are a few selected samples from the 150 samples created for impact testing. By using my knowledge in materials and compounds I created a vast amalgamation of materials by combining glass rubber, cork, granulated paper, silicon, paper, postal tubes, etc. These samples were then impacted with the 5kg accelerometer head and the G values were recorded.
Above: The values from the accelerometer were converted to a graph by using an algorithm.
These results were then put on a single graph against other factors such as ease of production, cost, ease of assembly, Workability, etc.
Paper then turned out to be the most viable and workable option to replicated best impact values.
